The Cure Concert
Thursday, 1 August 1996, Queen Elizabeth Theater, Vancouver, BC
So on that wonderful thursday night, my girlfriend and I headed off to
the cure concert and we enjoyed a tremendous show. I had been waiting for
this show for months. She had never seen the cure. She had only heard a
few songs from disintegration and paris. Except for a 30 minute wait and
the late arrival of merchandise the show was wonderful despite what the
sun reviewer said. We both got the black t-shirt with robert on the front
and words from treasure on the back. I also got a program.
Some of my favaourite parts were Fascination Street, Jupiter Crash, Just
Like Heaven (I must have looked really stupid because I was playing air
keyboards during the keyboard solo), Treasure, Trap, From the Edge...,
Bare (when I could sit down and still see), Why Can't I Be You (when
robert walked around and sang to various members of the audience), the
entire second set (I quite enjoyed Killing an Arab), A Forest (when simon
realized he had on the wrong bass or it didn't work or something) - the
whole song was hypnotizing, Faith.
Geez, that's almost everything. I think I sang almost every word. I came
out with a numb head, sore feet, a forest in my head - signs of a good show.
The set list was as follows:
